Planet Women is a nonprofit organization founded on the principle that diverse leadership and gender equity are essential to innovation and success at all levels of the environmental movement, from the field to the boardroom.
As a new nonprofit, Planet Women needed to build their identity through their brand materials. Included in the suite of materials were their 2021 annual report (40 pages), an e-invitation template, business cards, and notecards.
The 2022 annual report (52 pages) celebrated the accomplishments of the year and offered the reader multiple avenues to consume information (via articles, photos, captions, pull quotes, callout boxes, and the like). The report was produced in both print and digital formats; the digital version was created through Flowpaper and included interactivity, animation, and videos.
Artful Raven is a small, independent craft studio specializing in handmade bags. In an effort to expand their business, they wanted to build a brand from the ground up, starting with a logo and including business cards and an e-commerce website built in Squarespace for ease of maintenance on the client side.
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a global environmental nonprofit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive. They operate in 76 countries and territories around the world.
TNC’s California chapter had completed a six-year capital campaign and needed a brochure to announce and celebrate the historic milestone. The trifold brochure needed to align with the suite of other campaign-branded materials that had been produced yet express its own identity.
The Northern Sierra Partnership (NSP) is comprised of five independent non-profit organizations—The Nature Conservancy, The Trust for Public Land, the Truckee Donner Land Trust, the Feather River Land Trust, and the Sierra Business Council—that joined forces to conserve and restore the large landscapes of the northern Sierra Nevada.
To promote their work on project campaigns throughout the region, NSP needed to design booklets that would help generate the necessary funding to support the campaigns. These booklets were designed in keeping with the established style of previous campaign materials. Each booklet was 16 pages.
Koonstler is a small breeder of Maine Coon cats located in New England. They wanted to create an identity and website to help promote their cattery; the website needed to be clean, simple, and easily updated by the client. They particularly liked the style and sensibility of the Arts and Crafts Movement and wanted their materials and colors to incorporate elements of this style. The logo, business cards, and website reflect this desired sensibility; the website was designed in Squarespace for ease of updating.
Different organizations wanted to use storymaps to tell their stories in interesting, visual ways. These storymaps increase awareness about project work, foster engagement with the organizations, and help to raise funds for their efforts. Design included graphic illustration, video editing, writing, and editing.
